Welcome to the historic Pillow Street Bed and Breakfast. The house was built in circa 1900, renovated in the early 1990's as a bed and breakfast and updated in 2012-2013. Downstairs you will find the original, beautiful woodwork around the windows and other period details in the parlor and dining room. Upstairs are five unique bedrooms that include three of the original rooms. All bedrooms have private in-room baths. Upstairs you can sit on the balcony and enjoy an early morning cup of coffee. Downstairs in the parlor you can sit and watch movies, listen to music, play cards, board games or read a book. A full, hearty breakfast each morning is complimentary for our houseguests. We offer everything you need to relax and unwind from the stresses of everyday life.
Clifton, TN has been given The Best Water Award 2013 as one of the Top 10 Small Towns in the South. This hidden gem of southwestern Tennessee would not exist without the Tennessee River. Clifton predates the Civil War. Settlers first arrived in the 1800's and began to build homes and operate businesses. The golden age of Clifton existed during the early 1900's, as the steamboat was king and Clifton was an important river port town. As America changed its modes of transportation and the river landing became less important, a gradual decline hit the area. In the 1990's Clifton saw a rebirth. As tourists visit Clifton, the natural beauty of the area awes them. Pillow Street Bed and Breakfast is a block from the river and a short distance from Main Street. The 2012 movie Inspiration Pop 2929 was filmed in the Clifton/Waynesboro area and several of the locations are on Main Street.
Clifton offers a wide variety of outdoor activities and attractions all within a short drive. The area's natural setting lends itself to many activities including river activities, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, golf and other attractions such as Amish/Mennonite communities, Natchez Trace, Shiloh Civil War Battlefield and Pickwick Dam area.
